Cask and Vine

A few months ago, when we were in Derry, NH interviewing Eric and Paul at Kelsen Brewing Company, we stopped at Cask and Vine for a late lunch on our way out of town. We’d heard a lot of great things about it (Paul’s recommendation being the latest) and figured it was about time we tried it. The food was incredible, and the 12 draft lines were occupied by unique craft beers— more than a few from New Hampshire.

So when we went back this week to interview owner Andy Day, we had a feeling we’d get along. He and his partner Alana (who also own The Drinkery) were very welcoming and offered us a beer as soon as we arrived. Andy told us about how he first fell in love with craft beer, after trying some White Birch Brewing at the SNOB Film Festival in Concord, and about his passion for community. After our interview, we shot some b-roll of folks at the bar. We even met one of our awesome Kickstarter backers. It was easy to feel the sense of community and local pride that Andy and Alana focus on. A little of White Birch’s Berliner Weiss on nitro didn’t hurt, either.
